Wildlife Sightings by Guests
Thanks to Barry Robson from Cumbria for providing this extensive list of his sightings whilst staying here at The Boathouse. The following were seen without much effort, mostly whilst walking up the river bank, between 18th and 24th May 2008:

Partridge, Red-legged (2) Pheasant Pigeon, Wood Plover, Grey (6+) Redshank Shelduck Sparrow, House Starling Swallow Swan, Mute (3) Tern, Common/Arctic Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Song Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long-tailed (6+) Wagtail, Pled Warbler, Garden Whimbrel (3+) Whitethroat (plenty) Woodpecker, Great Spotted (2+) Woodpecker, Green Wren |
Other regular sightings include: Avocets, Cormorants, Egrets and Seals
On Sunday 8th June 2008, Wilf Marten from Kent caught the first two seabass of the season here at Quayside |

17th September 2008 a pair of osprey watched by Barbara and David Guthrie of West Sussex. Seen from the river footpath at Waldringfield and thought to be an adult teaching a juvenile to fish.
During the early hours of Saturday 16th May 2009, Ged watched a family of six otters at play and fishing on the waters edge at Quayside. He could have woke me!
